When it comes to mobile deployment, d&b audiotechnik systems have all the necessary qualifications: neutral sound, light compact cabinets and a rigging system that is safe, easy and swift to install, especially for flown arrays. Any system, in any configuration can be remotely controlled from a single point using the d&b Remote network together with their state-of-the-art amplifiers. The careful modular design of d&b systems not only allows full acoustical, mechanical and electrical compatibility but also takes into account standard truck widths.
J8 loudspeaker (16 Available)
The J8 is a 3-way design housing 2 x 12″ LF drivers, one hornloaded 10″ MF driver and two 1.4″ exit HF compression drivers with 3″ voicecoils mounted to a dedicated waveshaping device. The mechanical and acoustical design enables flown vertical columns of up to 24 loudspeakers to be suspended using vertical splay angles between them of 0° to 7° with a 1° resolution. The cylindrical wave segments produced couple coherently in the vertical plane. Due to the dipolar arrangement of the neodymium LF drivers the exceptional 80° horizontal constant directivity dispersion control is nominally maintained down to 250 Hz.The J8 is acoustically and mechanically compatible with the J12 loudspeaker. It can be used in columns of purely J8 loudspeakers or combined with J12s and / or with J-SUBs. The J8 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact and weather protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front of the loudspeaker cabinet is protected by a rigid metal grill, the side and rear panels incorporate four handles, and two NLT4F/M, EP5 or NL8 connectors wired in parallel are also mounted at the rear.
J-SUB (12 Available)
The J-SUB is an actively driven 2-way bass-reflex design housing three long excursion neodymium 18″ drivers, two drivers face to the front and one driver to the rear. The cardioid dispersion pattern resulting from this approach avoids unwanted energy behind the system, which greatly reduces the reverberant field at low frequencies and provides the greatest accuracy of low frequency reproduction.J-SUB cabinets can be used to supplement J8 and J12 loudspeakers in various combinations, ground stacked or flown, either integrated on top of a J8 / J12 array or as a separate column. The J-SUB cabinet is constructed from marine plywood and has an impact and weather protected PCP (Polyurea Cabinet Protection) finish. The front and rear of the loudspeaker cabinet are protected by a rigid metal grill and the side panels incorporate eight handles. Four 100 mm wheels and one EP5 or NL8 connector are mounted at the rear.
B2-Sub (12 Available)
The B2 subwoofer with its high output bandpass horn design and extremely high SPL is ideal for extended bass requirements. It is configurable to be either an infrabass for the C4 system or a high output, alternative subwoofer for the F1222 or C7 systems. When used with a C4 system, d&b recommend a ratio of four C4-SUBs to one B2. The B2 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood, has an impact resistant paint finish and eight integral steel handles. The front of the subwoofer cabinet is fitted with catches at the sides for securing an optional wooden lid, and mounted on the rear are four heavy duty wheels.
M4 (12 Available)
The M4 is a 2-way high performance stage monitor that produces 134/138/138 dB SPL when driven passively with the D6/D12/D80 respectivly or 140 dB SPL when driven actively with the D12/D80. The constant directivity dispersion of 50° x 70° (h x v) delivers an accurately defined coverage area on stage and, when used upright, it is transformed into a powerful PA system with a dispersion suitable for a variety of applications. The M4 cabinet is constructed from marine plywood, which incorporates the handles, and has an impact resistant paint finish. It has two M10 threaded inserts on each side panel to enable quick and flexible rigging and a socket to accept loudspeaker stands. Two runners recessed in the bottom panel protect the cabinet from scratching and prevent movement.
D12 Amplifier (24 Available)
The 3 RU two channel D12 amplifier delivers medium to high power into low impedance loads between 4 and 16 ohms and is ideally suited for use in both mobile and installation environments. The D12 contains setups for all d&b loudspeakers and a linear mode. The signal delay capability enables user definable settings of up to 340 msec (=100 m/328.1 ft) to be applied independently to each channel. The same applies to the 4-band parametric equalizer, providing optional boost/cut or notch filtering. The D12 incorporates a digital rotary encoder and a LCD display to configure the amplifier. The D12 utilizes an autosensing switch mode power supply for mains voltages 120 V/230 V, 50 – 60 Hz (optional 100/200V). The D12 amplifier incorporates d&b SenseDrive for accurate control of LF drivers in d&b loudspeakers driven in 2-Way Active mode or in actively driven d&b subwoofers. When the D12 is fitted with EP5 connectors and appropriate 5 wire cabling, d&b SenseDrive can be used, resulting in an extremely precise bass performance even at high levels. NL4 and NL8 connector options are also available. RJ 45 connectors enable access to the Remote network via CAN-Bus. d&b System check verifies that the system performs within a predefined condition, whilst d&b Load monitoring enables an automatic and continuous impedance monitoring. Both can determine the status of an LF or HF driver in systems with multiple elements, even if these are crossed over passively.
D80 Amplifier (12 Available)
The 2 RU four channel D80 amplifier is a high power density amplifier, ideally suited for use in both mobile and installation environments. It contains configurations for all d&b loudspeakers and a linear mode. The signal delay capability enables user definable settings of up to 10 s (3440 m/11286 ft) to be applied independently to each channel. The same applies to the two 16-band equalizers, providing optional parametric, asymmetric, shelving or notch filtering. The D80 incorporates a colour TFT touchscreen, offering quick access to the menu structure, while the rotary encoder can be used for fine adjustment. The front panel and the integrated touchscreen of the D80 amplifier is tilted up for ease of operation when the amplifier is below eye level.
